Helping others

Tonight we went to help pass out food to some homeless people at one of the train stations. As I write this Paul is at another station with some men from the church we go to meeting some more men and women who sleep at that station.
So we finally have a venue to do one of the things we want to do…help those who do not have.
It was good to be able to help, but there is so much to be done. It is quite overwhelming. There are so many needs. The world is full of people who need help and it also will be that way.
I am convinced that before people will listen to “Jesus loves you” they must see and feel it. That comes with meeting their needs and talking to them.

  1. MacKensie,Indeed there is so much to do! I’ve been reminded of the following: <>Original Story by: Loren Eisley One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…”I made a difference for that one.”<>“Well done, good and faithful servant…”
